A Little Princess Sa(d)a

A Little Princess Sa(d)a

A few weeks ago, while I was scrolling through Instagram stories, I stumbled upon a post that mentioned the anime A Little Princess Sara . In this post, it described the anime as depressing, so I was intrigued. How depressing could this anime really be? I then went over to YouTube to search it up and see if it was available. Usually with anime I prefer it to be English dubbed, not subbed [I'll delve into that topic another time]. However, the one that I found only had English subtitles, so I really had no other choice. Right as it started playing, I could tell A Little Princess Sara has been released for quite some time. It premiered on Japanese television in 1985, so it's been over 30 years. It was based off the Frances Hodgson Burnett's novel, A Little Princess, yet I've never read that novel either. The first episode starts a bit slow. You're introduced to this little girl who accompanies her father to this all-girl's seminary boarding school in London in the year 1885. I don't know how, but you can tell there will be tough times ahead for this little girl at this school, and somehow she knows it too. However, she remains hopeful, simply by keeping a smile at her face. This attitude is pretty much consistent throughout the entire show. I do not want to give away so much away, but I will say that this show is thought-provoking, and makes you question how much society has changed since then. Although I feel that it might be too depressing at times for children to watch, it does teach some valuable lessons. So, how sad can this anime really be? On a scale from 1-10, I would rate it an 8/10. But I highly recommend this show to anybody! It's a beautiful story and is brilliantly animated. My overall rating: 10/10 A Little Princess Sara : https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbwgzXmc8Bk3byUEZ3ieLwVJuqE_jNu3p

Miitomo Has Ended

Miitomo Has Ended

On May 9th, 2018, Nintendo decided to pull the plug on it's mobile app, Miitomo. On Miitomo, users were able to play along with their own Mii characters, customize their clothes, meet others, and play some mini-games all on their mobile device. The app lasted about 2 years, and many users were outraged once they heard about it being discontinued. Of course, you could expect that reaction whenever something is ending (i.e. Blockbusters, Toys 'R Us, Flappy Bird, etc.) As a result, you can easily find a multitude of YouTube videos (including mine) dedicated to the app. This move does make sense with the fact that Nintendo keeps bringing out more and more mobile apps. They just had to chop off the head of the least popular app to keep things running. I mean many would agree that there really wasn't that much to do on there anyways. But it was fun to socialize and create different images/videos with a mini-version of you or whoever you created. Although Miitomo is shut down, Nintendo has revealed that they would bring back a version of Miitomo online, where you can still create and edit Mii characters through your own Nintendo account. So, there is still hope for those who really loved customizing their Mii characters outside of their Nintendo devices. Watch my youtube video featured above. I give you a walkthrough of how the mobile app ran and show you many of its features. #miitomo #nintendo #mobileapp #app #phone #game
